Hiking... In My Van!!

Image
Howdy y'all!
Recently I've been working in a real country area up in the mountains. There's dirt roads and roads that are more like trails. Since my van is my work truck, I decided to check out some of these roads after work. (I know, the van does not have great ground clearance and the right tie rod end is bad, but who said it was a great idea!?) The weather has been PERFECT the last two days, so I figured it would be a great time to take some pictures as well. All of these were taken with my Moto X since that's all I have for a camera at the moment. I think it did pretty good!

Camping

Howdy y'all!
Recently we participated in a "becoming an outdoor family" activity at a state park. One of the plusses of this state park was its location. It was off the beaten path by quite a bit. Usually, state parks are barely within viewing distance of a major road and the campsites are side by side with little to no natural privacy. This one, however, was different. There were plenty of trees surrounding our campsite (we even got a lean-to!), the bathroom was in reasonable walking distance, and the surrounding area was simply beautiful. Amazingly, I didn't take many pictures. This was largely do to the fact that I lacked a safe place to charge my cellphone battery. Here are the few pictures I did take, though.

Facing the Communists... Dum-da-da-DA! <-- That's a drum roll.

I don't know if y'alls have been waiting for the promised video or not, but either way, it's here! We changed Epic Cowboy Studios to Christian Cowboy Studios, since... it's better. Nonetheless, we still try to make the average (or the awful - acting, that is) epic! So for this short trailer / film, we combined some things we like or don't like. We don't like communism. We LOVE old trucks. We like DRAMATIC music. And cornfields. And dust. And guns. And people running around, jumping into stuff and driving fast. And explosions - oh, wait we don't have any explosions in this one. We don't like long pauses, but we threw those in because they made the dramatic music land in the right spots. And we put in a trailer ending because it looks awesome! Also, it provided an opportunity to use some effects. I realize it's very rough and the acting is very poor (think - long pauses on my part and not editing it out to keep the music timed just right) and the truc…
