Faith

Faith

Faith is the force that moves the peak.
Faith makes one fight while others flee.

Faith is the fire that fuels our dreams,
That turns individuals into strong teams.

Faith is the flame that makes our prayers go,
Right to the One who hears heartache and woe.

Faith keeps me going when all is lost,
Not faith in myself, but faith in the cross.

Faith is the reason I trust in God's Word.
Faith is the reason I believe in the Lord.

By faith I know till the end of my days,
I'm safe in Him who is worthy of praise.

I wrote this poem a while back - I intend for it to be a song, but it needs a little work. If any of you folks compose a tune for it, I'd love to hear it! :D

  1. Great poem, Nick! Do you mind if I use it to share with friends in letters? Also, I have a tune floating around in my head that might work. I'll write it out when I get a chance and send it:) I've always enjoyed writing music...though some turn out better than others:) Have a great day!

  2. Really nice poem. Set to music, that would be so nice...especially with your guitar. Thanks for putting this on the blog, Nick.

  3. This is really good. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  4. Thanks for the great comments, everyone! Feel free to use the poem anywhere, any time, without attribution - it was written for God's glory. Any of you writing songs - it would be awesome if it was based off of a progression of G Em C and D or G2 C2 Em7 and D. Not an essential, but a nice way to do it. :D Also it would be nice with sort of a praise chorus style as well. The one I am working on sounds a bit like that. Can't wait to hear what y'alls come up with!

  5. The website you are designing looks great! Nice job. Also, I like the slideshow. How did you get that on there? I haven't been brave enough to try something like that yet. Also, if you are looking for some good teaching on HTML and CSS, then I would highly recommend Joseph Maxwell's course on "HTML: Step One In Web Design". It also covers CSS. And that's how I built my site:

I find web designing to be a lot of fun. Have a blast with it!

    1. I used a tutorial to learn how to build the slideshow. :D If you want the link I might be able to find it. The slider is purely from CSS and HTML. No javascript as far as I can remember.

I had a tune that was perfect for three lines. Thereafter your lines are all different lengths. I will never forgive you.
