Deep Thoughts on Important Subjects

Howdy y'all!
The title was, er... completely irrelevant to this post. It simply sounded magnificent so I typed it in. So much has happened since the last time I have had a monologue with you all! I hope this huge post will have been worth the long wait. I'll list the greatest events below, and you can decide if they're worth reading about! :D
My birthdayDriver's license! <-- :DCar stuffApplying for jobs That, my friends, is how not to write a cohesive list. At least it conveyed the main points.
November 11th was my birthday, and we had an awesome time! Actually, it's been over a month since then, so the details are not fresh in my mind. Since my camera and the camera on my iPod are both broken, pictures will have to be fewer. Grandpa, Grandma, and some of our neighbors came over as usual. We ate cake (yeah! :D) and ice cream, as well as a delicious meal. (I love delicious meals!!)
Then we had the "present thing" - Jonathan came up with that term a coupl…

The Winner is...

Ba-da-da-dum! (that's a drum roll)
...Nathan Schoolfield !
Congratulations, bud! I'll get your CD in the mail ASAP... well, as soon as I order it. LOL. Everybody click his name up there and give him a congratulations on his blog! :D (He'd appreciate your comments. ;) )
Now for the how's and why's behind the choosing... First, I typed all your names into a list and put them in alphabetical order in LibreOffice, then I went to and pasted them into the list randomizer. The randomizer put your names out in a numbered list. Obviously, the person who wins would be the person who's name is by the number 1. Here's the picture below to illustrate:
To the 22 of you who did not win - thanks for entering! Sorry you didn't win. Feel free to buy yourself a consolation prize by clicking on any of the links in the giveaway post to check out the listed CDs. As you can see, this method is probably the fairest way to choose - no respecting of persons happened he…

Bible Smuggler - The Movie!

Howdy y'all!
I was just playing around with the new trailers in iMovie. It seems to me that iMovie actually dropped some features in their latest release, but the new trailers are pretty awesome. So much, in fact, that I had to make a trailer with the footage I shot with the younger boys. This movie stars Jonathan as the bad KGB agent (for those of you who have never watched The Printing, the KGB is the Soviet Secret Police force), Samuel as the Bible smuggler, and myself as the person who hides Bibles in my treehouse. No more words - sit on the edge of your seat while watching this action-packed.... trailer. :D

The Giveaway!

Howdy folks!
Here it is, two too many days late. The - GIVEAWAY!!! (those colored fonts can be hard to read sometimes. :DSince I like music a lot, I think a CD would make a great giveaway! So here's the options:
1. Steve Maxwell Family - Simple Faith
This is a great CD for family singing with some songs on it that you won't find many other places, such as Daddy on His Knees, Give Us Rain, Another Soldier Down, and some other great ones. Genre: Bluegrass Gospel/Country
2. Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team - Clean Pickin'
This CD is a great one to clap along to with songs like Foggy Mountain Breakdown and Orange Blossom Special, and enjoy a good laugh with Black Eyed Susie and Puttin' on the Dog. Heartily recommended for those who like fun music. :) (This is the only CD not specifically a "Christian" CD, but it is produced by a Christian group) Genre: Bluegrass
3. Buddy Davis - Hymns of the Wildwood
Great old-time renditions of hymns that are usually sung in chu…

Thanks everyone! How's a giveaway sound? Since I likely won't reach 100 posts for a long time, 20,000 views sounds like a great place to have a giveaway. Later today I'll post the rules and the prizes. :)

The New Sigma Guitar and Mastertone Banjo (that you can buy for a low price...)

Howdy y'all!
As I mentioned in the last post, I am selling a Gibson Mastertone / Gibson Tenor parts banjo for my friend (did I mention that only once?) (If you want to buy it, here's the link....) It does sound AMAZING, and (as I mention in the video) it has little hearts on the fretboard. Now I've put out a sales pitch that covers everyone. I do have an ulterior motive for selling it to friends who I see more often - I'll see the banjo more often! :D
Once again, this is a post composed over several days... here is the corresponding vlog. :) Enjoy!
EDIT: I promise that this will be the last post attempting to sell the banjo. Future posts shall only torture your ears with the sounds of banjo notes and my voice. :D

A Waaaaaaay Overdue Update!

For those of you who read my mother's blog, that title probably bears a family resemblance.... :D Anyway, I know that this post is extremely late, and I know that I deserve the wrath of the myriads of angry blog readers who have been waiting for the two songs I was going to sing last year, the mandolin I was working on, and the comic shorts I truly will be finishing... :D So... I humbly apologize and repent. I will try to do better. Go ahead and shoot me an email if I don't... I'll try to reply to that as well. :-O
What have I been doing recently? Well, I've taken all five of the GED tests, and I know I passed to (Praise the Lord!) and I hope I passed the remaining three. If any of you need a GED study book, you can send me an email and I'll send it your way as soon as my scores come in. It contains helpful annotations by me like these:
(On an essay about family planning) "Propoganda!!!!"
(On a discourse about millions of years) "Bologna!"
(On a…

Faith Faith is the force that moves the peak.
Faith makes one fight while others flee.

Faith is the fire that fuels our dreams,
That turns individuals into strong teams.

Faith is the flame that makes our prayers go,
Right to the One who hears heartache and woe.

Faith keeps me going when all is lost,
Not faith in myself, but faith in the cross.

Faith is the reason I trust in God's Word.
Faith is the reason I believe in the Lord.

By faith I know till the end of my days,
I'm safe in Him who is worthy of praise. I wrote this poem a while back - I intend for it to be a song, but it needs a little work. If any of you folks compose a tune for it, I'd love to hear it! :D

America... the formerly beautiful

Howdy y'all!
I think it's time for a shorter post on a sadder note. I am first a follower of Jesus Christ and second a patriotic American. It grieves me deeply to see the route our nation has chosen. The cause of all our problems lies in the fact that America, as a nation, has turned her back on God and the Biblical principles that she was founded on. Hard work, love of country, love of life, and faith in Christ are principles that are quickly becoming uncommon. Respect for the elderly, love for unborn children, and a Biblical sense of marriage are things of the past. Drugs, sodomy, abortion, and generally polluting sins run rampant. Guys, I love this country and I don't want to see her die because of traitorous, ungodly leaders and unpatriotic, God-hating citizens - but unless this nation is reclaimed by the power of God and his people spreading the truth, it's only downhill from here. If you read nothing else today, read this.

America the Beauti…

Recent History (as opposed to Ancient History [which {by the time it's published} will be ancient history] )

Hey folks!
How are all you'ns!? Let's see... I don't think a month has quite passed yet, has it? :D Oh, wait! I just looked - lo and behold - it is MORE than a month! Some of you may be suggesting that I have some apologizing to do. Sorry - Theron gave me a good reason not to. Eitherhow, (that's a word I coined, feel free to use it anytime at no charge - it's one of the few things I'll give away for free) it's time to start following the template of posts, right? Or maybe y'all would like something a little more interesting. Before I continue, my ever-helpful friend, Theron, sent me an email to help with blogging. I'm sure you are all bursting at the seams to see it. [Drum roll] Here it is!
1.Apologize for not posting more frequently/regularly 2.Make some comment, preferably sarcastic, about my friend Theron 3.Mention my new car (obviously, you can’t talk about a new car without including pictures) 4.Insert random pictures of whatever I’ve been doing fo…

A Post on the Subject of Lack of Diligence in Blogging

Howdy guys and girls!
Thanks for putting up with my posts (or lack thereof!!!!) - I'm not going to pull the "I've been so busy" card again, so you don't need to read a long apology. :D

noun. a place to release a monthly apology for not blogging regularly and little information besides

Example: "I guess it's time to do my annual blog post again. LOL"

I think that home definition of blogging pretty much sums it up. As should this picture:
Basically, I haven't been up to much lately besides finishing up as much school as I can. It's my last year when it's done, so it would be nice to finish before 2014... :) Some of you have noticed that my blog has changed. Those of you who haven't don't notice very much. :D I changed it because I was interested in doing something new a…

Deadline Beat!

Howdy y'all! I think I successfully beat the one-month deadline. Which, if you are curious about what that is, it does not exist. It is simply a personal deadline that I have to convince myself that I am a good steady blogger. Which, if you follow my blog at all, you have by now figured out that I am not. :D So now, in an effort to make up for lost posts, I am posting thousands of pictures on this post. Sit back and enjoy!

Here, I ought to insert a short story that I was told by the veteran who ran the museum. During one of the World Wars (I can't remember which one) we ran out of space for prison camps in Europe, so we brought the German prisoners over here. One of the prison camps was right in Crossville. The way we treated the prisoners was extraordinary. They were fed four meals a day, allowed to leave the camp during the day, work a job in town and receive ample pay for it, and receive a pint of beer a day (even though Cumberland County was a dry county). I don't thi…
