I Surrender... Some?

Brother Michael Gleason (My friend's brother) gave me permission to repost this from his Dad's blog, Mind Renewers.
I hope it edifies you as it has me.

I Surrender… Some? Most of us know the hymn “I Surrender All”. But when was the last time we really thought about the words?
All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live. Chorus:
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my bless├Ęd Saviour,
I surrender all. All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now. All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me. How many of us can honestly sing that? Do any of us truly surrender everything to God? Do we really forsake all our worldly pleasures? Do any of us really give ourselves completely to the Saviour who died for us?

The Smith's!

Today, Brother Preston Smith and his wife, Sister Abi ministered at our church. It was a wonderful time of encouragement, challenging, and fellowship. Brother Smith showed slides from the ministry of Japan and the very touching video below.

You are heartless if you can't even get a little teary-eyed after watching this video. Even you guys. I know we want to be "tough," but I'll always remember Mr. McBride (The 9th, 10th, and 11th grade teacher at A Beka Academy  and, IMHO, the best one. He truly loves the Lord.) who watched the video "Trail of Tears," and he a "strong" boy, got some "dust in his eyes" (the way he put it) during the showing of the video. It's not always a weakness to "weep with those who weep." That is the mission field of the Smiths, their parents, the Evans, the Matthews, and others who I'm sure I've missed. I've put their blog in the sidebar so you can go to it.  Brother Smith shared a few s…

MS vs GM

Hilarious! Re posted from

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated that :- "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving twenty-five dollar cars that got 1000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Gates' comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason whatsoever your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason, and you would just accept this, restart and drive on.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn, would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reins…

BAD Idea, Pics, and Memories

Hi everyone!
One of the men at our church restores vehicles and he does a magnificent job! I would show you a picture, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, he asked me if I could give him a picture of his car because I had taken some earlier. Well, I've collected 6 memory cards that I can use in my camera. Of course, I only use 1, but I stuff the other ones in my bag (or my boot) when I fill them, instead of transferring them to my computer like I should! Result? I sorted through a massive amount of pictures... Correction: I inserted a card and looked through everyone of the pictures and sat and thought about them. That's why the post is called BAD idea! So, I guess I'll post some photos I have taken. My camera does not always like to cooperate, so many of my pictures were blurry. No problem. I have the simple philosophy that if you hit the camera button multiple times, you'll get a good picture! (Actually, that's not true - I like to take my pictures carefully.) En…
